The Dodgers earned their eighth championship and seventh since leaving Brooklyn for Los Angeles — their first in a non-shortened season since 1988. They won a neutral-site World Series against Tampa Bay in 2020 after a 60-game regular season and couldn’t have a parade because of the coronavirus pandemic.< https://traditionalnativeamericanflutes.com/ /p>
The game ended with the Yankees winning 11-4. Shohei Ohtani had only one hit, a single. Holding on to his shoulder, Ohtani sprinted to second and nearly made it when Mookie Betts hit into a fielder’s choice. A healthy Ohtani would have likely reached the base with no problem, but the Dodgers’ superstar is not in top form right now. That will remain something to watch the rest of the series, however long it lasts.
“Obviously, we’re in a tough position,” Cole had said prior to the 11-4 victory at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night, “but there’s a lot of baseball left to be played and anything can happen. We’re excited to get back out there. Hey, we’re still in the World Series. Hey, we’re in the Bronx. We’ve still got a shot at this thing.”
The Yankees are up against it now. Only 15 teams in 92 tries have won a best-of-seven postseason series in which they dropped the first two games. And so, as their Game 3 starter Clarke Schmidt takes the ball opposite the Dodgers’ Walker Buehler, they’re going to need to feed off the energy of a hungry crowd that hasn’t seen a World Series home game in the Bronx since the Yanks’ 2009 title run.
Freeman, still nursing that sprained right ankle, went deep again, and this time he had the company of NLCS MVP Tommy Edman and All-Star Teoscar Hernández and the backing of 6 1/3 one-hit innings from Yamamoto. The party quieted when Ohtani went down, and the Yankees had everybody on the edge of their seats when they plated a run and loaded the bases in the ninth. But the Dodgers protected their home turf.
Dodger Stadium was still rocking after Teoscar’s tater when Freeman stepped to the plate. The jersey he wore for Kirk Gibson karaoke night was freshly encased near the stadium’s suite-level entrance, but Freeman made it clear that the epic ending to Game 1 was not the end of his contributions to this cause. He worked the count full, then connected when Rodón challenged him with another high heater.
There’s a better metaphor for the unrung bell that we have to talk about, though, because if this Series makes it back to Dodger Stadium from here, one big reason will be a play that didn’t involve Rodón or Yamamoto or Treinen.
Even though he’s in the lineup, it remains to be seen if Ohtani is at the full extent of his capabilities. But either way, the Dodgers are in a great position in this Series. Both games at Dodger Stadium came down to a bases-loaded situation, and they both ended with an L.A. victory. Now, the Dodgers are just two wins away from their second World Series title in the last five years and their first in a full season since 1988.
Considering how often HBO’s Game of Thrones jumps from one location to another, it’s easy for viewers to get dazed and confused about where everything is on the map. With Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon tackling the events that transpired in the Targaryen Civil War, also known as Dance of the Dragons, it’s crucial for viewers to have a fundamental understanding of the layout of Game of Thrones’ setting/locations. Here’s everything audiences need to know about the Game of Thrones map of Westeros.
Also known as the Great Grass Sea, the Dothraki Sea is the largest semi-continuous region in Essos. Largely made up of prairie land, it occupies a huge area of inland Essos, stretching for thousands of miles in every direction and bordered by the Free Cities to the west and the Red Waste to the east. Because the Dothraki who control the area are nomadic, there aren’t any permanent settlements, save for Vaes Dothrak, a city on the north-eastern edge of the region.
The Riverlands lie directly to the east of the Westerlands – just north of King’s Landing – and its ruling family is House Tully, whose castle, Riverrun, was the childhood home of Catelyn and Lysa Tully. Apart from being a crucial location during the Targaryen Civil War in House of the Dragon, the Riverlands notably hosted the conflict between the Tullys and the Lannisters in Game of Thrones season 1, serving as the main theater for the War of the Five Kings. In addition to the handful of significant battles that took place there in Game of Thrones season 2, it’s also home to the seat of House Frey, The Twins – the site of the Red Wedding and subsequent end of the Stark Rebellion. It’s also home to Harrenhal, the largest and most unwieldy castle in Westeros, as well as the historically significant God’s Eye lake and its Isle of Faces, which served as the site of the peace treaty between the First Men and the Children of the Forest after the two ended their ancient conflict thousands of years before.
I don’t know if you monitor these comments anymore, but thought I’d let you know… For the “A World of Ice and Fire” Android app, the map of “The Known World” has a typo, with “The Milkwater” spelt as “The Milkwaer” instead.
Congratulations for this! I know it took them a lot of effort just to make an extensive map just like this one. It is really a job well done and it looks great too! My dad is a huge fan of game of thrones as well as my boyfriend. I hope these are available in the market for it would be a perfect gift and a collectible for them.
Qarth is a port city on the southern coast of Essos that’s prospered in part due to its prime location. Not only does it sit on top of a well-traveled trade route, but it’s protected from Dothraki raids by the Red Waste desert as well, which serves as its northern border. Under these conditions, and also due to the fact that Qarth is the last major city before the mysterious regions of the Further East, Qarth became renowned as a center of trade and commerce. Dany visits Qarth in Game of Thrones season 2 after making an inhuman trek across the Red Waste on foot. At first, she’s charmed by the wealth and comfort Qarth offers, but when it becomes clear everyone’s only interested in her in an attempt to possess her dragons, she leaves, but not before killing a few of the city’s leaders.
